Powers and Fundamental Rights in Cyber Security

2015

Protection of privacy and confidential communications are crucial fundamental rights in cyber security. The protection of privacy and confidential communications are twofold in the meaning that active security steps in communications may require interference with confidential communications. The detection and profiling of potential threats may raise suspects on innocent participants of communications. The NCSC-FI inside the Communications Authority has the initial task and powers to monitor the cyber security. The bill for the Code of Information Society introduces new obligations for information security and preparation for emergency situations. If new powers will be granted to authorities…

In light of the ends. Copyright hysteresis and private copy exception after the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) and oth…

2015

In British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) and others v Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, the High Court of Justice in matter of private copy exception provides the twofold prime opportunity to shed light on the state of the art of copyright in the UK and to flesh out the idea of 'legal hysteresis’. I support the reintroduction of the private copy exception, possibly in a less narrow fashion, and I explain the reasons why I am confident that my expectations will be fulfilled.

Does strategy matter? A comparison of broadband rollout policies in Finland and Sweden

2008

This study investigates broadband policies applied in Finland and Sweden with special reference to the geographical coverage of the required network infrastructure. These two Nordic countries are seen as forerunners in the development of the information society, and they also share several other similarities bearing relevance to the take-up of broadband. The role of private equity: from focus on the product to focus on value creation

2009

Orginal article published by InderScience publishers. Avaialble from: http://dx.doi.org/10.1504/IJEIM.2009.025141 As a consequence of the paradigm shift from an industrial society to an information society, the role of the entrepreneur ought to change from being an inventor of product/services to become a value creator. One major implication of the shift of entrepreneurial endeavour from product/services towards creating new business models is that hands on investors behind companies’ have to be involved closer to the inception of new ventures in ord…
