In British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors (BASCA) and others v Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, the High Court of Justice in matter of private copy exception provides the twofold prime opportunity to shed light on the state of the art of copyright in the UK and to flesh out the idea of 'legal hysteresis’. I support the reintroduction of the private copy exception, possibly in a less narrow fashion, and I explain the reasons why I am confident that my expectations will be fulfilled.
The Development of Students’ Metacognitive Competences. A Case Study

In the information society metacognitive competencies are essential. Based on some activities from the Enrichment Instrumental Program elaborated by professor Reuven Feuerstein we have designed a program for developing the students capacities of selfcontrol, selfknowing and intelectual learning strategies. The case study presents the formation of students’ metacognitive competences at the "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu, "Hermann Oberth" Faculty of Enginereeing, Department of Computers Sciences. A Web based application has been developed in order to enable students to self-evaluate their metacognitive competencies and to acquire self-regulatory abilities.

Abstract The article is devoted to statistical analysis of information and communication technology (ICT) industry in Latvia and the development of Information Society in the country. On the basis of statistical data comparison of Latvia with other European countries is made. This comparison shows that Latvia belongs to countries with very well developed Internet. On the other hand the statistical data points on the fact that it is necessary to increase the awareness of population regarding possibilities offered by using of ICT and e-Government.
